What is Ask Canndice AI?
Ask Canndice AI is your built-in analytics assistant available on every dashboard. It understands the data you are looking at, respects your active filters, and provides instant answers to questions about trends, outliers, and insights. Look for the sparkle button in the bottom-right corner of any dashboard.
How to Use It
Step 1
Open the AI Panel
Click the sparkle button in the bottom-right corner of any dashboard. The AI chat panel slides in from the right side.
Step 2
Choose a Preset or Ask Your Own
Browse preset questions organized by category (Trends, Store Analysis, Product Insights, Pricing Intelligence) or type your own question in the text box.
Step 3
Use Dashboard Filters
Toggle "Use dashboard filters" to automatically include your current filter selections (state, brand, category, etc.) in your question for more relevant answers.
Step 4
Ask About Specific Charts
Click the three-dot menu on any chart in the dashboard and select "Ask AI about this chart" to get a focused analysis of that specific visualization.
Step 5
Refine and Follow Up
Ask follow-up questions to dig deeper. The AI remembers your conversation context and will refine its analysis.
Tips and Best Practices
Tips
- Be specific in your questions. Instead of "What are the trends?", try "What are the top 3 fastest-growing product categories in Illinois this month?"
- Apply filters before asking questions so the AI analyzes the same data you are looking at.
- Use chart-specific queries to get detailed breakdowns of individual visualizations.
- The AI can compare time periods, identify outliers, and summarize large data tables for you.
