Introducing Live Menu Deals & Promotions
CannMenus now tracks 200K+ active dispensary deals across ~7,000 menus on 9 platforms — structured, attributed to products, flagged shelf vs. cart, and queryable in plain English through Claude.
What We Capture for Every Deal
Every deal comes with the promotion text exactly as the menu advertises it, plus a structured breakdown of what the deal actually is. We classify the mechanic — sale, BOGO, bundle, spend-threshold, or cart discount — and extract the percent or dollar value wherever it can be determined. Each deal is tied to a store, a state, and a medical or recreational menu, and carries first-seen and last-seen timestamps so you know exactly when we observed it. And when a promotion can't be fully parsed into structured form, we still capture it verbatim — you always get what the menu said.
Shelf vs. Cart: The Distinction That Matters
The most important field in the dataset is a flag we call shelf vs. cart. A shelf deal is already reflected in the listed price — price tracking can see it. A cart deal is applied only at cart or checkout: the BOGO, the 3-for-$45 bundle, the spend-threshold discount. Cart deals never show up as a lower listed price, which means every pricing analysis built on menu prices alone has been systematically blind to them. That's the gap this dataset closes. If you've ever wondered why a competitor's listed prices look unremarkable while their promo flyers stay aggressive, cart-level promotions are usually the answer.
Deal-to-Product Attribution, Down to the SKU
Deals aren't just captured as store-level text — each promotion is attributed to the specific products it applies to, down to the SKU. A brand can see every one of its products currently being promoted, in which stores, under which mechanic, and at what depth. Attribution also includes each product's role in the deal — the item you buy, the item you get, or the item that's simply discounted — so questions like "which of my SKUs are being given away as the reward side of a BOGO" finally have an answer.
Store-Wide Deals and Deal History
Not every promotion is attached to a product. Stores run menu-wide offers on their deals pages — first-time-customer discounts, daily specials, loyalty promos — and we capture those store-wide deals too. And because every deal carries first-seen and last-seen timestamps, deal history accumulates from day one: when a promo started, when it ended, and how long it ran. That's the foundation for questions like "which promotions does this chain run on weekends versus weekdays." Promo cadence is now a dataset, not a guess.
Ask for It in Plain English
If you use the CannMenus integration in Claude, deals are live right now — no dashboards to learn, no URLs to paste. Two new tools power it, retail_menu_deals and product_deals, but you never call them directly; you just ask. Try "What deals is Sunnyside Chicago running today?", "Which STIIIZY products are on promo in Brooklyn?", "Show me every BOGO running at dispensaries in Phoenix," or "What are the biggest percent-off sales in Arizona right now?" Ask by retailer, brand, city, or state, and CannMenus resolves the question to the best live menu for each store. One note: if you connected CannMenus to Claude before this launch, you may need a quick refresh before the new tools appear — here's how to refresh your CannMenus tools in Claude.
